Administrator or identified as Coordinator of Special Programs:
District-wide Special Education/504, At-Risk Program Lead, with duties to co-coordinate EL programming and social-emotional-behavioral supports with an additional focus on 5-12 attendance and family engagement and support.
This position will serve as the liaison between student, home, school and community resources to streamline service delivery for students in need of special education services, at-risk supports, EL programming, homelessness, and social-emotional-behavioral interventions.
Specific tasks:
- Expand at-risk identification and drop out prevention programs including addressing chronic attendance and concerns. Work with families to assist students to attend schools in grade 5-12, identify services, collaborate with truancy as needed, and work with counselors/students toward goal setting after high school.
- Provide procedural updates and district-wide coordination of special education services in the district.
- Attend and support IEP/504 meetings, including out of district placements as needed.
- Coordinate Medicaid billing services.
- Coordinate student supports for social-emotional-behavioral learning across the district.
- Collaborate with special education teachers and AEA Liaisons for specially designed instruction, as well as MTSS teams to support continuous improvement efforts, especially related to academic growth of students with IEPs.
- Co-coordinate district-wide EL programming.
- Facilitate team meetings.
Requirements:
- Experience in leading within special education or special programs related to at-risk students and/or behavior preferred.
- Background in social-emotional behavior and/or mental health services for SEL leadership.
- Program evaluation experience preferred, but not required
- Administrative licensure preferred, but not required.
