TITLE: School Bus Dispatcher
SALARY: Based on Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 3-5 Years Experience in School Bus Transportation Preferred.
2. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Google platform.
3. Excellent driving record and a valid class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements preferred.
4. Ability to plan, communicate with the public, other district personnel and supervise others using patience, tact, and courtesy is required.
5. Sound judgment and the ability to withstand the demands of early morning hours.
6. Experience in vehicle routing and scheduling.
7. Operation of a two-way radio and standard office machines.
8. Managerial experience is preferred.
9. Knowledge of school transportation laws and procedures is preferred.
10. Ability to multitask.
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY:
The School Bus Dispatcher reports directly to the Operations Supervisor.
JOB GOAL:
The School Bus Dispatcher oversees and manages the bus drivers and bus aides in the operation of the school transportation program and to assist the Operations Supervisor in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of pupils to and from school and to curricular and extracurricular activities. The Dispatcher schedules and staffs school vehicles for pupil transportation needs. The Dispatcher is first on call to find substitutes. The Dispatcher will assist with assigning stops and routing school vehicles using good judgment at all times.
EVALUATION:
The School Bus Dispatcher is evaluated by the Operations Supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
