Patients are at the centre of everything we do here at Horowhenua Community Practice (HCP). We are a busy general practice on Liverpool Street seeking a highly engaged, energetic and confident patient services coordinator to join our busy team. The focus of this role is to provide a highly positive customer experience - to make the customer feel welcome, acknowledged and to reduce any customer service barriers.

What will set you apart, is your natural approach to assisting patients and internal staff, ability to receive visitors / staff, a polite and helpful telephone manner and ability to genuinely be resourceful, work independently and flex to what’s required.
You will have well-rounded interpersonal skills to relate to members of the public and your colleagues. You will need to be a good listener, have the ability to answer queries promptly and adapt behaviours to engage with callers, showing patience, sensitivity and confidentiality.
You will be supported by a Team Leader and your colleagues, and you will be a quick learner and seek out answers.
So, what is this role all about?
- Being the face of HCP and ensuring the patient’s experience is positive by being responsible for the smooth running of reception and support the delivery of quality patient care.
- Playing a pivotal role in both the patient and whānau experience and having a direct impact on the Practice’s ability to provide effective patient care.
- Actively engaging in respectful relationships with all patients and their support networks to encourage participation in the delivery of care.
- Patients feel listened to, have their queries answered promptly, and are shown patience, sensitivity and confidentiality.
- You will be required to work across Reception, receive inbound calls, make patient bookings and carry out general administrative duties.
- The internal focus is liaison with staff and communication of patient expectations, needs and any other issues that require attention.
